The Chiefs defeated the 49ers 25-22 in overtime.
San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa was asked about teammate and star quarterback Brock Purdy’s rising celebrity status over the past year and what changed with the 24-year-old.
Bosa shared that the signal-caller has become more vocal but has remained down-to-earth, comparing him to golfer Scottie Scheffler despite his recent controversy.
“I don’t think he’s ever going to change, even when he gets paid next year. He’s a man of faith. He kind of reminds me of Scottie Scheffler, except he didn’t get arrested. He’s just super humble and a really good kid. Yeah, he’s definitely famous,” the 26-year-old told the media during the 49ers’ OTAs on Tuesday, May 21.
Despite his relatively humble persona, Scheffler was arrested and spent the morning in jail last Friday, May 17, while he was on his way to the PGA Championship after reportedly assaulting and defying orders by the police for his vehicle to stop amid a traffic accident.
Brock Purdy is happy to see Nick Bosa this early
Meanwhile, Purdy was delighted to see the defensive end during the start of organized team activities.
Bosa typically bypasses these voluntary workouts throughout his career.
“I mean, it’s sweet. You could tell it means something to him. To show up phase three, practicing on the field, it’s pretty special. For all of us to see that, it’s like ‘All right, if Bosa is taking it serious, then we all should,'” the 2023 Pro Bowl selection said.
