Confetti testing has taken place in New York’s Times Square ahead of the city’s New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Handfuls of colourful paper were sprinkled across the square on Friday local time.
Organisers tested the confetti for its ‘airworthiness’ before it rains on the city to ring in the new year.
More than one thousand kilograms of confetti is estimated to fly from New York’s rooftops on Sunday night to celebrate the start of 2024.
One million people are expected to pack into Times Square to watch the ball drop on New Year’s Eve.
Another billion are expected to tune in worldwide.
