While some teams are still fighting for the NBA Championship, others will be hoping the lottery pull will fall their way for the draft.

Teams will soon learn their faith regarding the 2024 NBA Draft, at least where they will be picking at in June.

There isn’t a true standout star in this year’s draft, as many believe it’s one of the weakest in recent memory. This is unlike last year where Victor Wembanyama was a top every draft board, and living up to his expectations with the San Antonio Spurs.

Still, some promising prospects are entering the 2024 NBA Draft. Here are three players who could likely go No.1 overall this year or even potentially/hopefully have outstanding NBA careers.

Alexandre Sarr

Position: Center

From: NBL Wildcats

If any prospect will emerge from the draft with the most star potential, it has to be Alexandre Sarr. His unique skills will intrigue and excite any basketball enthusiast.

After spending some time with the Overtime Elite, Sarr went to play against grown competition overseas in the NBL for the Wildcats before committing to the draft.

During his time with the Wildcats, Alexandre Sarr has shown that he is a 7-footer who could do it all. He is very athletic and has proven that he can play on the perimeter or in the low-post.

Sarr’s strength is in defense, as he has great instinct and has shown that he could be an elite 3-and-D player.

The key for him is to get better at using his massive 7-foot frame to truly unlock his potential at the next level.

Nikola Topic

Position: Point Guard

From: Serbia, Crvena Zvezda

The Serbian point guard Nikola Topic is one of the more exciting prospects entering the 2024 NBA Draft.

Topic has shown that he is an electrifying scorer and passer while playing for Crvena Zvezda in Serbia.

Many experts feel that Nikola Topic is one of the real prizes in this year’s draft. They believe that he is one of the most NBA-ready players to emerge from the draft, and it’s easy to see why.

He has shown a lethal offensive skill set in his shooting and is one of the better playmakers. Topic has showcased himself at an elite level for Crvena, making any pass or shot in his time there.

His tall frame, standing at an astounding 6 foot 7, makes him a nightmare on defense.

Any point guard-needy team would love to have Nikola Topic on their roster, as he has a great jumper and an elite feel for the game.

Zaccharie Risacher

Position: Small Forward

From: France, JL Bourg‑en‑Bresse

Yet another French prospect will likely be taken high in this year’s NBA draft.

Zaccharie Risacher is a 6 foot 10 wing with a high IQ and an excellent feel for the game. The 19-year-old has shown great potential while playing in France, having demonstrated to be lethal from three-point range.

Risacher’s perception around the league is that he is a wildcard; some feel that he may fall to the 8-12 range, while others believe he is a top-three draft prospect.

He is still a very raw talent who does need to add on some more muscle mass, as it’s likely that Zaccharie Risacher can be a problem for opposing teams moving forward when put into the right situation.
