The Canadian men’s basketball team will have one NBA player less as they continue with their training camp ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

The team announced that Oshae Brissett, who last played for the Boston Celtics, has been dropped from the training camp roster.

The 26-year-old requested to withdraw from training camp to focus on the ongoing NBA free agency, where he is currently available in the open market.

Team Canada previously announced a 20-man training camp roster in preparation for the 2024 Summer Olympics, which will be cut to 12 in time for the international competition from July 26 to August 11.

Brissett last played for the Boston Celtics in the 2023-24 season, where he provided impact despite limited minutes during their playoff run en route to a record-breaking 18th NBA Championship.

The Toronto-born player recently chose to decline a $2.5 million player option with the Celtics for the 2024-25 season to enter free agency.

However, the former Syracuse Orange has not ruled out a return to the reigning NBA champions.
