After missing the playoffs for the third time in five years, the Golden State Warriors will now move toward the offseason.
With a regular-season record of 46-36, the Warriors fell short of making the postseason this past year. Their season came to a disappointing end when the Sacramento Kings knocked them out during the Play-In Tournament.
Golden State are still expected to compete for a championship as long as the core around Stephen Curry is strong. However, the star guard and defensive specialist Draymond Green are closer to the end of their careers opposed to their primes.
Now entering this offseason, General Manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. has some significant questions to answer ahead of next year, mainly figuring out how to keep the Warriors championship window open without sending away too many young pieces, avoiding a full rebuild.

Klay Thompson Future
The Warriors have a big decision to make concerning one of their franchise’s most important players.
Klay Thompson will enter this summer as a free agent, but that the Warriors do seem to intend on keeping him around.
Thompson has also mentioned that he would be willing to take less of a role and money to hang with the former champions.
Several teams have reportedly been interested in the acquiring of the five-time All-Star, including teams such as the Philadelphia 76ers.
Thompson, who has suffered two major injuries in his ACL and Achilles, has been a crucial cog in the Warriors’ dynasty years.
Last season, the 34-year-old guard showed some regression despite being able to average 17.9 points per game.
Still, the aging guard is an outstanding player and could continue to be highly effective for the Warriors.
Biggest Offseason Needs
The Warriors do plan to keep their championship window open even though Stephen Curry is entering the twilight of his career.
Golden State might have to consider the possibility of trading young stars like Jonathan Kuminga or Brandin Podziemski to go all in for a star.
Both Pods and Kuminga were crucial role players in the Warriors’ rotation last season, but their play wasn’t enough to help this roster rise to the top.
With names like Paul George and Donovan Mitchell out in the market, Golden State could look to clear up some cap space or trade their young players for an established difference-maker.
An area of concern on the Warriors’ roster is the front court.
Last season, Golden State had Kevon Looney and rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis play minutes at center, but neither were difference-makers
They can definitely benefit from getting another big man up front along with another proven star in the league.
