Pop sensation Katy Perry celebrated the AFL Grand Final in grand style, silencing her doubters who had queried her inclusion among artists to perform before the game.

But when the Brisbane Lions were playing to fight the Sydney Swans, “Thinking of You,” singer Katy Perry had not one thing but everything going for her.

According to The Roar, she kicked off her show with chart-topper “Roar.” She had the masses cheering with a mesmerizing array of fan favorites that included “Teenage Dream,” “Dark Horse,” “Firework,” and “California Girls.” She also gave some previews of two cuts from her new album, Lifetimes and Gorgeous.

Naturally, neither did the crowd – social media was soon awash with appreciation for Perry’s top-notch performance.

“Credit to the head honchos at the AFL, that was awesome,” tweeted one fan, summing up the breathlessness of many who were watching for the show. Another wrote, “Katy Perry just proved why she was worth every dollar.”



In true Katy Perry style, the performance said much more than just powerful vocals-it was like a full-blown visual extravaganza. From complex props to creative set design, Perry’s show had abundant visuals that left the mouth gaping open in awe. However, one detail stood out: the set design resembled a gigantic goon bag, an iconic Australian staple.

Over 50 dancers lined up around Perry, dancing on top of a giant silver balloon, waving glittering silver circles that looked almost like a sea of goon bags. The creative set was enough to make waves online, as many praised her idea to put in that little bit of Aussie culture.
