Kamala Harris didn't endorse any candidate in Democratic Party election but made private phone calls to three frontrunners
Kamala Harris did not back any candidate in party election but spoke to all three frontrunners.

Former vice president Kamala Harris intentionally kept herself away from endorsing any candidate for the chair of the Democratic National Committee, but reports claimed that she spoke to the three leading candidates in private calls signaling that she is not going anywhere leaving politics. Each of the phone calls lasted about 15 to 20 minutes during which the candidates discussed their visions for the party and expressed their gratitude to Harrus for her presidential candidacy.Harris told them that she looked forward to working “closely with the winning candidate as soon as they are elected”.
Ken Martin, the head of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party who also served as a vice chair of the Kamala Harris-Mike Walz campaign, was elected as the chair of the DNC Saturday. The other two leading contenders were Wisconsin Democratic Party chair Ben Wikler and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley.
Wikler was the favorite of some Democratic billionaires and many of the party’s biggest players had backed Wikler including Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, Nancy Pelosi, Gretchen Whitmer and Andy Beshear. Kamala Harris did not back any of the candidates.

Louder cheer for Kamala Harris

Both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris delivered pre-recorded video messages to the DNC members. “In state after state, district after district, from house to house and door to door, you work to energize, organize and mobilize,” Harris said in a video address to the committee after the first round of votes. “And as we continue to fight for our ideals and to realize the promise of America, I will be with you every step of the way.” Harris’ message drew louder cheers than Biden’s. “If she runs again for president, it was a reminder that she is still regarded highly in many parts of the party,” Politico commented about Harris’ sway in the party election.
Kamala Harris has not yet announced whether she will be running for California Governor in 2026 or the presidential election again in 2028. She has many offers for writing books about her presidential candidacy as well, but as of now she has not said anything about her future plans but the Democratic Party election shows she indeed won’t ‘go quietly into the night’.
