British boxer Anthony Joshua swiftly dismantled former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in their highly anticipated boxing match on Friday, March 8, at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

After the brief two-round bout, which was entirely dominated by the 34-year-old, he imparted a piece of advice to the French-Cameroonian for his boxing career.

“Don’t leave boxing, don’t do it,” Joshua was overheard telling Ngannou as they gave each other mutual respect.

Despite his overwhelming victory, Joshua envisioned a bright future for Ngannou in the sport.

“[Ngannou] can come again. He’s two fights in and he fought the best. He’s a great fighter. It’s up to him,” Joshua said during the post-fight interview.

Joshua completely controlled the fight, scoring three knockdowns against Ngannou. The first knockdown occurred in the first round with a powerful right straight, from which the Cameroonian managed to recover.

The two-time unified heavyweight champion concluded the bout in the second round, initially flooring Ngannou with a potent right hook.

Despite the MMA fighter getting back up, still disoriented, Joshua sealed the victory with a brutal right straight that sent him crashing to the canvas, unconscious.

There was initial concern as Ngannou was unable to rise to his feet immediately, but he later regained consciousness and received oxygen while seated on his stool.
