Renowned businessman Suhel Seth, poet and thinker Prasoon Joshi and India’s G20 Sherpa and former NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant highlighted India’s rich culture and said it is the responsibility of each individual in the country to be the ambassador of India’s soft power, at the CNN-News18 Rising India Summit 2025 in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Seth mentioned that India is in finest position as a world superpower, and stressed it is now an “incredible” investment destination. “India is a force to reckon with,” he added.

Speaking about innovation, Seth cited how Israel, which is the size of Gurgaon, has been excelling in that department.

Meanwhile, India’s G20 Sherpa & Former CEO of NITI Aayog Amitabh Kant reiterated the tremendous innovative and infrastructure work that India has been doing in the past few years. Kant remarked, “Ten years ago, India was counted among the fragile five economies. Today, we’ve risen to become one of the top five. Over the past decade, we’ve made remarkable strides in infrastructure development and have driven significant innovation. India now leads the world in fast payments, accounting for 50% of global transactions—while China follows with only 20%.”

Kant also mentioned that Indian start-ups have been doing “path-breaking” work in Artificial Intelligence and health domains. “A few years ago, there were only 156 start-ups in India, today we have 1,61,000 start-ups and more than 100 unicorns,” he added.

Prasoon Joshi, poet, thinker, Chairman & CEO of McCann Worldgroup India, who was also part of the panel, reminded the audience of India’s rich civilisation, which, he said, is “rooted in a larger truth”.

In context of a popular folklore in which Jambavan reminds Lord Hanuman of his immense superpower and encourages him fly across the ocean to search for Sita, Joshi said today India needs its own “Jambavan to make us realise” how rich and diverse our civilisation is.
