An Irish tourist has been arrested after allegedly breaking a stone statue while climbing over it in Brussels.
Video footage shows a man in a white T-shirt and black shorts clambering over the back of the stone lion in the Belgian capital.
The hapless vandal can be seen seated on the stone work of art outside the city’s recently renovated stock exchange building before rising up and attempting to swing his leg over.
But when he appears to lean his weight onto part of the statue in order swing his other leg across, part of it snaps off and can be heard smashing on the ground below.
The man has been arrested and the managers of the historic building have called for him to pay for the repairwork, according to the BBC.
