Real Madrid legend Raul has left the club as its youth academy coach, the La Liga side announced on Tuesday.
The 47-year-old, who had led the Spanish national team as a player, spent most of his professional career at Madrid, winning 16 trophies with Los Blancos.
He joined Madrid’s academy as the under-18 side’s coach in 2018, and has remained at the club,since rising to the position of reserve team coach.

“Real Madrid is proud to have had one of the greatest legends in our history and world football as a coach and trainer at our youth academy,” the club said in a statement.
“Raúl also exemplifies all the values of Real Madrid. Values that he has also passed on as a coach: he coached Cadete B (U15s) and Juvenil B (U18s) in the 2018-2019 season. Since then, he has coached Castilla. In August 2020, he also coached Juvenil A (U19s), the team that won the Youth League,” Madrid added.
