Former Jammu and Kashmir BJP chief Ravinder Raina faced strong criticism from opposition leaders after posting a reel showing him running through snow with his security personnel.
Raina, a BJP’s national executive member, uploaded a one-minute reel on May 4, showing him running in the snow with at least five armed security personnel following him.
While the BJP leader captioned the reel with “Jai Hind,” the timing of the post coming less than two weeks after the Pahalgam terror attack triggered backlash as the opposition leaders accused him of misusing the security forces.
Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi reacted to the post by saying that while security forces can guard the borders later, their primary duty appears to be protecting BJP leaders first.

Senior Congress leader Supriya Shrinate accused the BJP leader of enjoying the snow and misusing security personnel while the entire nation is in mourning after the Pahalgam attack.
“Somebody has lost his young son, somebody his father, somebody her husband. And this person is in a frolicking mood? He is shooting reels? Misusing security personnel? Where do they get so much shamelessness? Is insensitivity the BJP’s character?” she asked.
Congress’s Kerala unit also shared the reel on X and said this was the treatment “BJP leaders or even fake PMO officials get”. “But not a single police or military person was posted where over 2000 tourists visit. Not a single gunshot was fired back,” it said.
