Heavy Rains in Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Gujarat, Maharashtra For Next 5 Days, Says IMD – News18

Moderate to heavy rainfall has also been forecast in East and Northeast India over the next few days.

The Indian Meteorological Department has warned of extremely heavy rainfall in the Western coastal areas of the country on Monday, July 15. In its latest weather forecast, the IMD has predicted an active monsoon over Peninsular and Central India over the next five days, leading to heavy rains in these regions.

Isolated extremely heavy rainfall is very likely over Kerala and Mahe on July 15, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat Region, Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka on July 15 and 16 and Saurashtra and Kutch on July 16, the Met department has said.

The weather body has also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat State, Karnataka and Kerala and Mahe during the next five days.

Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rainfall has also been forecast in East and Northeast India over the next few days. “Heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places over Odisha during 15th-19th; Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on 15th & 16th; Nagaland, on 15th; Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 16th & 17th July. Isolated very heavy rainfall also likely over Odisha on 15th & 19th July,” the latest IMD forecast added.

Scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning is also very likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan during the next five days.

Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Punjab,

Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi and West Rajasthan are also expected to receive scattered rainfall during the next five days.

The weather department has predicted isolated very heavy rainfall over Uttarakhand on July 17 and 18 and East Rajasthan on July 18.
