While property prices are rising across the country, the situation in the national capital presents a unique scenario. Seven areas within Delhi stand out as particularly expensive, where even a single square foot of land can command lakhs of rupees, making property acquisition an unrealistic prospect for most.

Prithviraj Road

Prithviraj Road reigns supreme as Delhi’s most expensive area. Situated in the heart of Lutyens’ Delhi, this prestigious locale is home to affluent individuals and influential politicians. Property rates in this historic neighbourhood, near Safdarjung Tomb, have soared to Rs 3 lakh per square foot. Consequently, houses here command a price tag ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 150 crore.

Jor Bagh

Jor Bagh, the second most expensive area in Delhi, is situated near the historic Humayun’s Tomb and Safdarjung Tomb. Known for its lush greenery, this neighbourhood is adjacent to the famed Lodhi Garden and is home to a prestigious array of Bollywood celebrities and prominent politicians. Located near the city’s most expensive market, Khan Market, property in Jor Bagh commands a premium price. A 1 to 4 BHK flat in this sought-after area can range from Rs 5 to 35 crore.

Defence Colony

Defence Colony ranks as the third most expensive area in Delhi, with property rates soaring to £99,000 per square foot. This sought-after neighbourhood is a renowned medical hub, home to several leading hospitals, including AIIMS. Residents also benefit from a wealth of amenities, including numerous restaurants, malls, and convenient access to the metro system. A 3 to 4 bedroom flat in Defence Colony, with its prime location and comprehensive facilities, will cost between Rs 7 and Rs 10 crore.

Model Town

Model Town stands out as one of the most expensive real estate markets in Delhi. The presence of numerous prestigious societies developed by the DLF Group contributes to its exclusivity. Renowned as a residential hub for government officials, business professionals, and celebrities, Model Town commands premium property rates, soaring to Rs 20,000 to 25,000 per square foot.

New Friends Colony

New Friends Colony stands as one of Delhi’s most affluent areas, renowned for its aesthetic appeal, characterised by expansive roads, abundant greenery, and picturesque parks. The area exclusively features luxury properties, with prices reaching Rs 33,000 per square foot. Residential options include apartments, houses, and bungalows. Furthermore, New Friends Colony boasts proximity to a range of Delhi’s finest schools, colleges, and hospitals.

Panchsheel Park

The Panchsheel Park area of South Delhi is one of the capital’s most expensive areas. Abundant greenery and the proximity of Hauz Khas forest and park distinguish it from other neighbourhoods. The area offers a mix of apartments, houses, and bungalows, with property rates reaching approximately Rs 60,000 per square foot. Panchsheel Park embodies a unique confluence of nature and modernity.

Nizamuddin West

Nizamuddin West is another highly expensive area. Land prices typically range from Rs 7,000 to Rs 47,000 per square foot. The area is renowned for its historical significance, surrounded by notable sites such as Sunder Nursery, Delhi Golf Club, and Humayun’s Tomb, making it a highly desirable residential location.
